With a focus on the future, Michael Hill is looking for an energetic and career focused Junior Buyer to join our global Buying team, here in Brisbane. This is a sparkling opportunity to work within the Diamond Fashion and Colour stones team.  

This exciting opportunity will work closely and report into the Senior Buyer to support buying functions. The successful candidate will contribute to the overall achievement of financial objectives, liaise and build strong relationships with suppliers and ensure on time deliveries of samples and product. 

In this hands-on role, your Primary responsibilities will be to: 

• • Prepare analysis reports and recommendations for the Senior Buyer 
  • Responsible for developing and sourcing new product ranges to deliver range strategy to set budgets under guidance of the Senior Buyer
  • Maintain a strong communication link between Merchandising and cross functional departments  
  • Support promotional activity in line with marketing briefs and on time in accordance with the merchandising Promotional Planning Calendar 
  • Identify trends in the market and highlight opportunity for new products 

As the successful applicant, you will have: 

• • Strong analytical skills 
  • A solid understanding of the retail industry and market needs 
  • Have a strong work ethic, good time management skills and adaptable to change  
  • Degree qualified or equivalent professional experience 3-5 years 
  • Your superior communication skills, strong customer service focus and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment will ensure your success
