What makes our Fashion Buying & Planning ULTIMATE program truly unique, is that we have partnered with some of Australia’s most iconic fashion retailers to provide you with unparrelled on-the-job skills training. Each week for the duration of the program, you will work alongside buying and merchandise planning teams. You will get the opportunity to attend range reviews, strategy development, sales performance meetings, and supplier meetings. You will get to see how the buyers and planners interact with other members of the support office such as supply chain, production, or marketing.
As an intern, you’ll work either one or two days per week, (the internship is a mandatory component of the program). The internship is guided, meaning that for the first couple of months you will spend time shadowing various members of the support office at different role levels, such as the Assistant Buyer, the Merch Assistant or Allocator. This will give you a helicopter view of how the support office operates.
For the rest of the internship you can then slot into an entry level role, e.g. allocator or buyer’s admin and take on some of the tasks performed by these roles. This gives the you real work experience which you can add to your resume.
Internships are unpaid, although some intern partners will pay an expense allowance to cover travel and lunch etc.

Boardriders - Gold coast
Boardriders is the owner of brands such as Quiksilver, Billabong, Roxy, DC Shoes and Element. So, if you like the idea of going for a surf before heading into the office, then this internship will deliver both skills and lifestyle.
sportsgirl - melbourne
Sportsgirl are an iconic fashion brand based in Cremone, Melbourne. Well known for their festival wear, and accessories range. The Sportgirl team are keen to take on an intern who really wants to learn about planning.
camilla - sydney
Founded by the imitable Camilla Marks, this luxury boho brand based in Alexandria has a support office that itself looks like it has just stepped out of the pages of Vogue. They have a small team and are expanding internationally.
Forever New - melbourne
Based in Burnley, Melbourne, Forever New is an Australian fashion brand with an international presence. Interns will work alongside the accessories team and have great exposure to what it’s like to buy and plan internationally.
Best & Less - Sydney
Value retailer Best & Less are offering a fabulous internship in their kids team. This retailer has great process, people and systems, and interning here will give you a thorough understanding of buying and planning.
Sussan - melbourne
Mid-market womenswear retailer Sussan are keen to take on an intern who is looking to a career in merchandise planning. Interns will get to work with both the Sussan and group planning teams.
michael hill - brisbane
High fashion jeweller Michael Hill is the epitomy of style and purposfully seeks out apparel buyers to ensure their products are on-trend. The brand has recently moved to a new support office in Cannon Hill, Brisbane.
suzanne grae - sydney
Based in Sydney’s Olympic area, the Suzanne Grae team are looking for someome who is keen to develop their merchandise planning skills as well as learn the ropes of buying from an experienced, highly skilled team.
